Stream Of Consciousness

sometimes she sits and wonders
alone in her corner and tears streaming down her face she asks herself
why? why is this her reality
There are those that abuse her those that judge her for faults
and when there are those who truly love her
who believe she is the greatest there is
she does not believe
she cannot believe them for all the times she has the person dies
taken by the disease of no cure
it slowly infects their body till they are no more
she wonders if its her fault
no she knows it is her fault
for when she accepts their love they leave
in the most painful and dreadful way possible
so she no longer believes she no longer accepts
because she has convinced herself that she cannot, that she is not allowed.

Elegy

Her

I watched as it ate away at her body
Though by no fault of her own
It was like killing her was their hobby
All that was heard were painful groans
As blotch after blotch appeared on now feared x-rays
Coming more and more, refusing to go away

The day arrived
When I was forced to watch
As a grand black courage drove by
To take her away and scoff
Though we continued to plead in vain
At least, gone was her pain

Although it was mid-July
All I could feel was a numbing cold
Among the sea of black and white
Although controlled, I was not bold
For the tears would not cease
And fell with startling ease

My tears would no longer fall
I glanced once more at her smiling face
only to be stopped in awe
The one I dare not replace
Stood in her blinding white glory
Gone were all traces of worry

Day after day
She came to me
And although I would have it no other way
I could see that she did not agree
When I looked she was no longer there
The pain really was to much to bear

Lower and lower her final bed sank
Deeper and deeper into the soil
In that moment my mind was blank
And the knots began to uncoil
I knew then what I did not before
I would not be seeing her anymore

Ode

Ode to Bridges

Bridges
Can  be
As grand as sky scrapers
Or as simple as the ABCs
And differ they may
In their size and complexity
They serve one purpose

Across bottomless ravines
And endless roaring rivers
Connected
Will two places be
By a path of matter
Strong enough
To be an unyielding bridge

From the
Scorching heat of the summer's sun
Which none survive
To the harsh bite of the winter's storm
They stand strong
Indestructible
Against all odds they remain

Connecting worlds
And mending rifts
Their capabilities are endless
And their beauty dazzling
Like a fine wine
Time will only add to their grandeur

Ballad

The Night Sky
When I look at the night sky
I can see so clearly all those lies
And truth be told
It's getting kind of old
When I look at the night sky

The look of their fake smiles
and the pungent smell of desperation
Leave behind a taste oh so vile

The me that they see
Is nothing but a fake
And this is their mistake
For I am only an illusion
When all turns black
And the stars become my light
I think to myself and lay back

The moon is my friend
The stars are my glasses
And I can see so much clearer
I can feel the wind's touch
And I can feel the wind's whisper

When I look at the night sky
I can see so clearly all those lies
And truth be told
It's getting kind of old
When I look at the night sky

Limerick

Charlie

There once was a boy named Charlie
Who lived in a field of barley
There was plenty of beer
Which moved people to tears
Damn, did he know how to party

Free Verse

Escape

The wind gently caressed his face
In the calming meadows
He was finally at peace
This was his escape, his world
But the skies turned a sickening black
As the wind howled in agony
His eyes opened as he jolted back
Into the nightmare that was reality
The pain. The tears. The loneliness.
All he had wanted, was escape.
